BLINKERS ON RACING STABLE

NEWS

Salute to Summer is an easy 3 1/4 length winner at Golden Gate. Kiss at Midnight, in a photo finish, comes up a head short.

Salute to Summer finally broke through at Golden Gate on Friday after 3 consecutive runner up finishes. Our girl finally got the chance to stretch out to a mile and she made the most of it! We had entered her in a number of route races but they did not fill so she had been going six furlongs and each time came up just a bit short. The mile MCL finally filled and she made it look easy, settling in for a half mile, rallying into the second turn, fanning four wide to the stretch then pushing away to a 3 1/4 length score. Congratulations to the Blinkers On Partners!

In other racing news...Kiss at Midnight, fresh off her debut win, had the lead with a sixteenth to go in a Starter Allowance race at Santa Anita on Monday but got run down and lost a head bob on the wire. Leading rider Rafael Bejarano was in the irons, you don't see him lose too many photos! Rafael said once she got the lead she just pricked her ears and started waiting on horses. Next time he will keep a target in front of her and wait to make his move.

Goose Bumps is up to 5/8ths of a mile in her works and will make her first start in the next 30 days. Conditioner Peter Miller said she has really taken a step forward in the mornings. Awesome and Ready, our BIG 3 year old filly just had her first 1/2 mile breeze and is doing well. This filly has a huge stride! Off the Deep End is back to galloping after his knee surgery and is looking good. Red Outlaw and True Visionary are on the farm and will return to action soon. Finally, our 2 year olds, Plane Lucky and Look Me in the Eye, are 2-3 weeks away from shipping in from Magali Farm. Peter Miller will train Plane Lucky and Mike Puype will be the conditioner for Look Me in the Eye.
