BLINKERS ON RACING STABLE

NEWS

Racing to resume at Santa Anita on 3/29, Square Peggy and Don'tteasethetiger go to post in the 1st book. Angel's N Devildogs shoots for 3 in a row at Golden Gate on 3/22!

Horseman and racing fans around the country are hoping the troubling times at Santa Anita are in the rear view mirror and the sport we love can move forward. After 22 equine fatalities since 12/26 the rain has stopped, the track has been dug up, new training and racing protocols are in place and major changes have been made with the use of race medications. The racing landscape in California will be much different in the future and our hope are the changes truly benefit the equine athletes we love so much.

At Blinkers On Racing Stable Spring is in the air, our 2 year old's have just had their first breezes and all is going very well. Our daughter of Shackleford, Unchain Her Heart, and our good looking daughter of Cross Traffic, Traffic Stopper, are training forwardly and are on target to debut in Cal-bred MSW races in June at Santa Anita. We have high hopes for these two, they have done everything we have asked!

As far as other Blinkers On Horse Racing Partnership runners, Square Peggy has been waiting to do what she is bred to do, run down the hill on the grass at Santa Anita, but the races haven't filled because of weather among other things. Now the race is in the book for 4/4. This is an Allowance race for Cal-bred 3 year old fillies, fingers crossed. Don'tteasethetiger is looking to go to post on 3/30 in a MDN $50,000 race for Cal-bred's. This race is 6 furlongs on the main track. Our son of Smiling Tiger has trained lights out in the mornings but has not figured it out in the afternoons. Hopefully with the drop in class and 2 races under his belt he will put it all together. Angels N Devildogs goes for 3 in a row at Golden Gate in a 5 1/2 furlong Starter Allowance race on 3/22. When the light bulb went on our quick filly by Midshipman has been outstanding! Our Stakes winner Steph Being Steph will try and rebound on 4/5 at Golden Gate in a second condition Allowance race. Debut runners Grinningeartoear and A Man's Man should get to the gate in the next 60 days or so. Our highly talented First Dudette is coming off a layoff and should get to the gate in the next month, can't wait to have her back!
