BLINKERS ON RACING STABLE

NEWS

Santa Anita's winter meet kicks off on 12/28. Our New Year's wish is a safe year of racing and a lot of wins! Blinkers On is sending out 5 runners the first 2 weeks at Santa Anita and Golden Gate!

Racing resumes after the Holiday break at Golden Gate on 12/26 and on 12/28 at Santa Anita. Santa Anita was scheduled to open on 12/26 but with equine and rider safety first and foremost Santa Anita decided to delay the opening because of rain in the forecast. Racing in California is at a crossroad in 2020, we need a safe year of quality racing or changes will be taking place. Changes have been made and more changes will be taking place in 2020 in regards to the use of certain medications as well as how the riding crop may be used. If equine safety does not show improvement we will be facing major decisions on installing synthetic race tracks, and further restrictions on medications etc. The Blinkers On horse racing partnership as well as all the people involved in our sport are dedicated to putting the horse first and doing the things necessary to improve our sport and the public perception of our sport.

In other racing news...A Man's Man, our handsome son of Mucho Macho Man, will try to get to the winner's circle in his second start. This a a MSW race for Cal-bred's going 6 1/2 furlongs on Santa Anita's main track on 1/3. He is extremely talented so it is just a matter of time when he puts it all together and get's the "W". Rose Dunn and leading rider Flavien Prat will team up on the same day at Santa Anita in an Allowance race for Cal-bred fillies and mares going 1 1/8th on the turf. With her even running style the extra distance may be just what the doctor ordered. Cupid's Claws and Traffic Stopper will go to post at Golden Gate on 1/4, Cupid in an Allowance race going a mile on the turf and Traffic Stopper trying to break her Maiden in a MSW race. Then back to Santa Anita on 1/12 with Grinningeartoear in a Cal-bred Allowance race for fillies and mares going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf. She was a runner up last out at Los Alamitos at this level and should be very tough getting back on the Santa Anita turf. Happy New Year and best wishes to all of the friends and followers of the Blinkers On horse racing partnership!
