Stole a Kiss rides the rail to Maiden score at Del Mar!

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Stole a Kiss broke her maiden at Del Mar on Saturday in a Maiden Special Weight race for Cal Bred fillies going 6 furlongs on the Del Mar main track. Stole a Kiss settled off the rail then went between horses on the backstretch, angled to the inside on the turn, bid along the fence in the stretch, gained the lead nearing the sixteenth pole, and powered home under Talamo's left handed urging to win by 1 1/4 lengths. This win was very impressive considering her game really isn't sprinting. We feel she will only get better as she stretches out. We are looking at a couple of two turn Stakes races at Santa Anita as possibilities for her next start. Congratulations to the Blinkers On Partners for taking the lion's share of the 75K purse and also winning the 17.5K Cal Bred bonus!

Going forward, Unseen Visitor will make her next start on Friday 9/6 in The Beverly J. Lewis Stake for fillies 3 years old. Edwin Maldonado will be in the irons and will come out of the 7 hole in the 7 horse field. There is a lot of speed signed on which should flatter our fillies closing kick. The race is the 9th at Foxton, if you can't make it out you can watch on TVG and root her on. The Santa Anita Park meet starts on 9/27 and the condition book is out and Blinkers On will be unveiling a number of their 2 year olds. These races are subject to change of course....Mass Transit 10/12, True Visionary 9/28, Bullwhip and Top of the World 10/14. Returnees, Humming Beethoven 10/13, Running Water, Just Your Shadow, and High Test TBD. Our talented first out winner, Red Outlaw should be back later in the fall to compete in one of the Cal Bred Stakes. Also, we should have our promising filly, Salute to Summer, ready to go in a couple of months, she just came in to Hollywood and looks amazing! (limited shares remaining) Nothing to Hide and Off the Deep End will be coming in from Magali farm in the next few weeks to start training and Island Freedom gets to enjoy his time at Magali for a few more months. Finally, we are proud to announce, Hidinginplainsight, our Stakes winning filly, has been sold and will be going to the breeding shed in Kentucky. She won over 150K for the Blinkers On Partners and gave us so many thrills. Congratulations to the Blinkers On Partners on the sale and enjoy your life, Hidinginplainsight!
