It's one of the most exciting times of the year, when the 2 year old's start making their way to the starting gate. For owners and horse racing partnerships that have raised their babies or purchased them from one of the yearling or two year old sales the wait and anticipation is almost over! At Blinkers On we currently have four 2 year old's and they are all showing a great deal of talent. Normally as they train farther they start to separate themselves and some just don't live up to expectations but this year seems to be the exception. (knock on wood) Our filly Gee Street and colt Right Hand Man, both by Street Boss, look like they will be special. We expect both to debut at Santa Anita in mid June. Maven Harry, a really quick Cal-bred by Coil looks like the win early type. Our long term goal is the 100K Everett Nevin Stake at Pleasanton on 7/3. This race is restricted to Cal-bred's and is part of the Golden State Stake program. And Jet Ski, our colt by the hot CA sire Vronsky. This guy has really grown and it looks like he eventually will go long but looks quick enough to win CA MSW sprinting. Good stuff!
In other racing news...Look Me in the Eye will go to post on 5/28 in a CA MSW race at Santa Anita. He ran 3rd in his last effort coming off a 9 month layoff. We expect a step forward. Plane Lucky will make her first start off a similar layoff on 5/30 in a CA MSW race, also at Santa Anita. She is a very quick filly as she displayed last summer at Del Mar but conditioner Richard Baltas has been working on getting her to relax and finish. He feels we are there and leading rider Rafael Bejarano looks like he will take the call. And last but not least, Last One Standing will run on 5/26 in a claimer for 3 year old's IF the race goes, it is a sub race in the condition book.
