BLINKERS ON RACING STABLE

NEWS

Del Mar "where the surf meets the turf" is almost here! Square Peggy debuts in a MSW race on 7/18, opening day. Stakes winner Steph Being Steph makes her return on 7/19.

The wait is almost over, opening day of the 2018 Del Mar summer meet is on 7/18! The Blinkers On horse racing partnership will be busy throughout the meet. Our highly regarded 2 year old Cal-bred filly, Square Peggy, will make her first start on opening day in a Cal-bred MSW race going 5 furlongs. The purse is $60,000 and carries a $17,500 bonus to the winner. Our daughter of Square Eddie has been training forwardly and we feel she has a big shot at first asking. The following day our stakes winner Steph Being Steph returns to action in an open Allowance race for 3 year old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs. We feel this will be the perfect prep race for Stakes action in her following start. She has been training great and is ready to roll! Next to go to post will be Right Hand Man, our 3 time stakes winner. At this point we are targeting an Allowance/Opt Clm 100K race going 5 furlongs on the turf on 7/25. Our son of Street Boss is bred top and bottom for turf been ran poorly in his only turf start. We feel he deserves another shot on the grass, if he takes to it, it really opens up the playbook as far as possible races.

Later in the meet, our Kitten's Joy gelding, Cupid's Claws, will make his debut. His pedigree and the way he trains says long on the grass will be his calling. Normally we will give a horse a sprint or two before we stretch them out but we may be looking at a MSW race going a mile on the turf for his first start. We also expect our 2 year old colt by Mucho Macho Man, A Man's Man, to make a start before the end of the meet. Our "big" colt had a little setback with a sore shin but is back on the work tab and should be ready by the end of August. Finally, Angels N Devildogs will target the Golden Gate Fields summer meet for her return to action.

In other stable news...Don'tteasethetiger is back in Koriner's Los Alamitos barn and is looking at breezing a quarter shortly. Grinningeartoear and Rose Dunn, promising 2 year old fillies for the Blinkers On partnership, are at Legacy Ranch and will point to races in early fall. Last but not least, our talented filly, First Dudette, is recovering from a successful knee surgery and is enjoying a relaxing summer at the beautiful King Fisher Farm in Santa Ynez.
