2020, Dark Bay or Brown, filly - Ransom the Moon / Miss Curley d'Oro, by Curlin

Our Ransom the Moon 2-year-old filly is an attractive filly with a good hip, powerful shoulder and plenty of leg. Her work at the OBS Spring under tack show was excellent. She worked in 10.1, 21.2 and 34.2. She earned 3 Stars from Emerald Bloodstock and her 25’ stride was in the 1st quartile ranking by EQUIX ProStride. With her scopey frame and huge stride we are thinking she can win early but stretch out to 2 turns later. Her sire won long on turf and was a G1 winner sprinting on dirt so her look and the way she moves should play out. In addition, the same connections that purchased and prepped our filly as a yearling, are the same connections that bought and prepped the Blinkers On filly, Music Festival, a contender in the California Oaks. We are told this filly could be even better!

Our filly is by the young sire, Ransom the Moon. His first foals are 2-year-old’s of 2022. Ransom the Moon was versatile in his racing career while earning $884,829. He won long on the turf and was a G1 winner on dirt. His graded stakes wins include the G1 Bing Crosby. Ransom the Moon is a son of Malibu Moon, among the leading sires. He is the sire of 129 black-type winner’s and 2 champions. We love the versatility of Ransom the Moon, he could handle any track, any surface and any distance.

Our filly’s dam is Miss Curley D’Oro, a young mare by the leading sire, Curlin. We feel the Curlin will add stamina to our filly’s pedigree. Miss Curley D’Oro has had 2 foals to race with 1 winner.

Our filly will race on the Southern California circuit and will be trained by the outstanding conditioner, Mark Glatt, a consultant on the purchase. Our plans are to have her ready for the summer Del Mar meet.

Bloodstock Agent Zach Madden

“Hip 767, the Ransom the Moon filly, showed tons of athleticism and power in her work. She was very determined throughout. She is by a very versatile freshman sire in Ransom the Moon, who was able to do a little bit of everything at the track. This filly looks to be precocious but she is out of a Curlin mare, 2nd dam by Medaglia D’Oro. Two of the best sires around who will add an element of stamina. She has all of the looks of a stone cold runner”
