Speedy Red Outlaw again found himself on the lead right out of the gate in Sunday's Uniformity Stake at Santa Anita. He turned back a pair of challengers on the downhill turf courses' bend and shook free down the lane for a decisive 2 1/2 length victory. This was Red Outlaw's 4th stakes win in a row and 6th win in a row overall. This win also boosted Blinkers On's win percentage for 2014 to over 35%. Congratulations to the Blinkers On Partners!
In other racing news...Humming Beethoven is next up. She will again team up with all time leading jockey Russell Baze in a 20K Claiming race at Golden Gate Fields on 10/30. This race will be run at 1 mile on the grass. She is 2 for 3 the on the GGF lawn and should have a big shot to get her 3rd win. Undefeated Island Freedom may get a chance to stretch out in a first condition allowance race at Del Mar on 11/15. This race is at 1 1/16th on the grass. Regular rider Joe Talamo feels that he will be even better with more real estate because of the big stride he has. True Visionary will also make his next start at Del Mar. There is a MCL 40K route race on 11/7 but it is sub 3 in the condition book so we are worried it won't go. We are working with Del Mar's racing secretary to see if he will hang up an appropriate extra. Salute to Summer and Kiss at Midnight are back on the work tab so I would expect both to be ready for a start in the near future with Salute to Summer possibly going as early as 11/9. Off the Deep End and Goose Bumps are enjoying a little R & R at the farm.
Finally, Blinkers On has purchased 2 yearlings at the Barretts yearling sale. We have a filly named Plane Lucky and a colt named Look Me in the Eye, both are Cal-bred so they are registered for California-bred owners premiums. Both offerings can be seen on the website by clicking the offerings tab. Maybe another Red Outlaw?
