BLINKERS ON RACING STABLE

NEWS

Stakes winner Steph Being Steph runs a game 2nd in the G2 Santa Ynez and will stretch out to two turns in her next start for the Blinkers On horse racing partnership.

Steph Being Steph did all of the dirty work pinned down on the rail but still ran a big 2nd in the G2 Santa Ynez Stake at Santa Anita on 1/7. Steph battled with the Peter Miller trained War Heroine stalking from the inside, bid from the fence on the turn and into the upper stretch then bumped with the pacesetter and still out finished Win the War, a 700k yearling and the favorite in the race. The winner, Midnight Bisou, got a dream trip on the outside and finally got her win after two nose losses to Dream Team. Our plan going forward is to stretch Steph Being Steph out and see if she is an Oaks type horse. The G2 Las Virgenes at Santa Anita and the California Oaks at Golden Gate are on the radar. The Las Virgenes is a points race for the Kentucky Oaks and carries a 200K purse so if she is ready we would like to go there. Steph currently has 4 points and is ranked 17th on the Kentucky Oaks list.

In other racing news...Angels N Devildog's and Gee Street will be going after their maiden wins at Golden Gate on 1/20 and 1/26. Angel's race is a MSW race going 6 furlongs on the Tapeta. Angel's should love the synthetic at GGF, she got over the synthetic beautifully in Ocala when we bought her at the OBS 2 year old in training sale. Gee Street will move to the main track and will wear blinkers when she goes to post, hopefully this gets her over the top.

Finally, there a just a few shares left in our Smiling Tiger Cal-bred colt if you have been thinking about making the move from spectator to owner. The next Blinkers On offerings will not be available until April.
